It's Wednesday morning, and between my thinly concealed cravings for alcohol and Bossyboss's post:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I got to thinking...what are your favorite beers, Oppo? I don't know if I have all time favorites, as my taste rotates between a few go-tos. Currently, these are the beers I am thinking about instead of work:
What about you guys?

I've always been a sucker for Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.
But any oatmeal stout will do. Or any stout.
Or lager, ale, IPA, porter, or pilsner.

oooo nice...want to try.

I'm not too much of an avid beer drinker. But when I do drink, it is usually a Guinness (draught or stout, whichever is available). Or I will also sometimes have Harps or Smithwicks.
But recently, I was introduced to Yuengling, which unfortunately I can not get locally. I really liked it.

Unfortunately that is a Christmas time only beer, but anything from that brewery is going to be good. And strong. The mad elf comes in at 11%. Merry Christmas indeed.

aahah awesome..finally another Delirium fan!!

I bet that goes great with some Goslings and a lime wedge...

I just drink the biggest beer I can find.
Fat Tire is probably one of my most usual ones though.

Welp, I stopped drinking many years ago, but my brew of choice were
In Murica, Shiner Blonde. In Mexico Cerveza Indio and Cerveza Barrillito

I havent had a sammy smith oatmeal in a great long time, thanks for the 4 pack reminder. Speaking of 4 packs... I havent seen our buddy lurking around the FP much

Probably Founders Breakfast Stout, or my sister's homebrew clone of it. But it really depends on the individual day. I snagged a case of Lionshead for like 12$ the other day, and I'm enjoying that quite a bit, despite it being nearly the same caliber of beer as Bud, etc.

Am I the only one here that doesn't drink? I'm 28.

In no particular order and pic-free because I'm lazy:
Boddington's Pub Ale
New Belgium Shift
PBR
Erdinger Weißbier
Odell 90 Shilling
Breckenridge Avalanche
These are generally found in my fridge. I cannot give a complete map of my "favorites", I've had way too many beers to keep a list any more
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:27 |

Some of my favorites are Leffe, Founders All Day IPA, Bells Twohearted, Various Sam Adams, Hertog Jan, Sapporo.
There are a bunch more, I'm sure, but there's a selection.

Yeungling. It's cheap. It's good. It's almost everywhere (on the east coast).

I'm currently on an IPA kick.
Harpoon IPA
Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA
Sam Adams Rebel IPA
Magic Hat Ticket to Rye IPA

my favorite beer that I've tried is Maui Brewing Co.'s Bikini Blonde Lager. I'm not sure if it was because I was in Hawaii or it was really that good, but I can't find it here in New England.
I also tried Blue Point's toasted lager recently, but I guess they just got bought out by Budweiser so their supply chain is messed up right now. The guy at the package store said they should have it in a few weeks.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:34 |

I also liked this beer when I lived overseas.

My biers of choice are from the Old World. Generally from the Low Countries or the Fatherland.
German wheat bier, Belgian ale, and if I'm not feeling picky, I'll take an Amstel, which ironically is almost impossible to get in the US, because since Heineken owns Amstel, they don't want their first brand to have sales stolen.
So I might as well get on a plane and bring some Amstel back next time. I'll just be looking up my duty free import limits...

Well, I'm nineteen... But the drinking age in the UK is eighteen, so I haven't had to feel shifty in pubs for over a year!
Anyway, I'm not much of a beer guy, honestly, but if I do have one, it'll be one of these two:

I'll always try a stout/porter and IPA from somewhere, i tend to like those styles the best. I just brewed a rosemary roggenbier that i have brewed in the past, and it should be good.

I can almost guarantee the ingredients of Bud Light Lime are not Bud Light and lime juice.

I'm a stout man. I like my beer like I like my coffee. Black and as large and strong as possible.
Lion Stout has to be my favorite. I could only be able to get it from this one place but they changed hands and now I dunno.
Cheap beer? The best beer/$ ratio I have found is Honey Brown. Tastes like actual beer and can be had for < $1 per bottle.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:43 |

have you tried Castaway IPA? Tried recently, enjoyed. Torpedo is great, Harpoon is great, if a bit non-traditional. Never been a fan of rebel. Also, do you like Dogfish head?
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:44 |

Sam has to be the best beer that you can get everywhere in the US at least.

Yuengling is arguably the beer I have drank the most of in my life, and it arguably will be the beer I continue to drink the most of in my life. It is my go-to.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:45 |

anything other than the large brews. Especially not that piss called light beer. German bier, Guiness when I see a place has it on tap, and my local Minnesota beers (almost everyone has been great but I really like what Schell's brews). One that I order just about every time I see it on tap is Grain Belt Nordeast (Schell's).

Colorado transplant here - I usually drink red ales and IPAs when a coors like is feeling a bit hollow.
here are some of my favorites:
Flat12 Mustache Ride Red
Eric the Red - Odd 13 (Red IPA)
River North - BPR, Quandry (quadrupel)
Renegades Elevation IPA - 11% of "I can't stand up"

Yuengling to me is not a great beer, but a good one, and very respectable for the price and availability. To me, easy to get and good is usually Leinie and Yuengling.

Lately my favorite is a local brew that I buy by the Keg; Tequesta Brewing's Gnarley Barley. It's a really nice APA with some spice and a good hop profile.
Since summer is here though, I'm a sucker for Leinie's Summer Shandy, even though some might say it's not technically a beer. They're great for the beach.

Along with Founders All Day IPA, this is one of my favorites right now.
For those that have had 3 Floyd's Zombie Dust, it's like that with Galaxy hops. My girlfriend normally isn't a beer fan, but this one has made her go back for seconds when we were there!

Meh. Never been a Samuel Adams guy. I prefer Sam Jackson.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:49 |

Probably Franziskaner - provided it's brown-bottle and actually in Deutschland. Imported, it loses some of the zing, and loses ground to Reissdorf koelsch and PaulAner.
US Beers, depending on time and occasion, I'll drink Blue Moon, Leinenkugel, and Yuengling, though Fat Tire has a couple of good ones. Not a fan of IPAs, generally.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:49 |

Depends on your definition of availability ;)
Can't get it in Colorado

Anything from Philadelphia Brewing Co.
They don't distribute that widely, so if you don't live near Philly, they don't really care about your money. Shame tho, cuz everything they make is excellent.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:53 |

Is there such a thing as non-light Amstel? Because Amstel Light is like 3.x percent abv, so I consider it pointless.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:54 |

Lost Nation brewing is one of the few good reasons to go to Morrisville Vermont (I say that having lived there and in the surrounding areas of Lamoille County for many years...). The food that they serve at the tap room is also fantastic...

New Belgium Fat Tire is usually what I go for now. It's only been available in Ohio since December, but I'd tasted it before and been a big fan. My cousin works for them, and when he got married (good God...15 years ago) they provided his reception with 8 kegs of beer, 4 of which were Fat Tire.
Yuengling is generally my second choice. During the summer I'm a big fan of Shock Top Lemon Shandy (I know, ImBev/Budweiser/BAD/whatever) as well.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:55 |

First and foremost. Drink local. Find something that is good wherever you are. The only place this has ever failed me was in Egypt.
Overall my favourites are Uni Broue Ephemere, Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Pilsner Urquel, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Uinta Cutthroat, Abita Purple Haze, Flying Dog Doggy Style, Yuengling, Pliny the Elder, Epic Hopulent and Spiral Jetty, RedRock Elephino and Hops Rising.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:55 |

I liked it better than Kona Longboard, which I can find in stores. I haven't tried the Kona Fire Rock you posted, I'll have to see if I can get it.

I, too, am a stout man. I love dark drinks.
Have you ever tried any of the Rogue stouts. One of my favorites is the Rogue Double Mocha Porter. Delicious.
![]() 06/11/2014 at 10:57 |

Yuengling is probably what I drink the most, but my favorite beer has to be Sweetwater 420.

90 minute is great, local brews are generally the way to go. Dogfish head is semi-local to me. I have heard a lot about Pliny Elder and Younger, but I don't know where to get them. Have wanted to try for a while.

If you are ever in CO, you have to visit their brewery. Make sure you walk from downtown or have a driver, because these babies are 11% and two of em will knock you on your ass.

my favorite beer is from a brewery around the corner from home. They don't bottle though. Its called Train hopper IPA and it is delicious. As far as my go-to for when I'm out. I would have to say Bells Two Hearted IPA, or Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA.
(Not my picture)
